Just when you think things couldn’t get anymore exciting at Long Island Cares to celebrate Harry Chapin’s Legacy, we are so proud to announce that our Honorary Chair of our Endowment Campaign, Pat Benatar and her wonderful husband/guitarist, Neil Giraldo will be adding their names and generosity to our Legacy 30 Celebration from July 8-18th.
Pat and Neil are performing a “sold out” concert on Thursday, July 14th at the NYCB Theatre in Westbury. They are providing 4 tickets to Long Island Cares to conduct “The Elements of Five Tour Auction” to benefit Long Island Cares. For a minimum bid of $2,500, the winner will attend the concert and meet Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo backstage before the show for a special “Meet & Greet.” Round trip limousine service will be provided courtesy of our friends at Ultimate Class Limousine. We are waiting to hear from the Vyada Hotel about donating dinner for four that evening.
In addition, Pat has invited Long Island Cares to set up our information table in the lobby of the theatre that evening to promote our Endowment Fund. And, she and Neil feel very possible that they will visit Long Island Cares in the afternoon to take part in a press conference. And, the winning bid will be matched as part of the NBTY Helping Hands Charity $100,000 Challenge. And, Newsday has just donated a half-page ad to promote the auction that will run this coming Friday, in addition to our website and Facebook page. Do you feel our excitement?
